On November 7, Won Jong-pil, president of Konkuk University, attended the 2nd Korea-China Educational Leadership Forum at the Lotte Hotel in Busan, Korea.

The Forum was jointly hosted by the Korea Association For University Foundations and the China Association for Non-Government Education under the theme of ‘the development of artificial intelligence and the future of higher education’, as well as ‘the future of higher education in the face of demographic decline’, from November 6 to 8.

Chairpersons and presidents from Twenty-three private universities in Korea, including Konkuk University, Hanyang University and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and 44 universities and educational institutions in China, attended the forum and hadpractical discussions on international cooperation and the talent nurturing for the friendly development of universities in the two countries.

At the Forum, Konkuk University introduced the university, signed agreements with Chinese universities, discussed student exchange programs, and conducted promotional activities to attract foreign students.

The Korea Association For University Foundations, which co-hosted the forum, was founded in 1986. It has 176 member institutions nationwide that operate four-year private universities.

The first China-Korea Education Leaders Forum was held in November 2023 in Beijing, China. The second forum was held this year to find a breakthrough to overcome the crisis of local universities due to the decline of student population and explore ways to cooperate with local communities.
